My name is Brandon Roman, and I am a counselor and the owner of Skytop Mental Health Counseling, PLLC. Welcome…
I am excited to be practicing in the Hudson Valley, where I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz. I am a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
Much of my work has been focused on serving the needs of adolescents, families, and young-adults- and this remains a specialty of mine. I am also an experienced drug/alcohol and addictions counselor. This all said, I consider myself a generalist, meaning I am trained and comfortable to work with a variety of mental health and personal issues. I work with young teens to retirees, and enjoy working with men and women of all ages and of diverse backgrounds.
In addition to working in private practice, I am a part-time Clinical Counselor at Marist College and Adjunct Professor of Mental Health Counseling at SUNY New Paltz. I previously worked at SUNY Oneonta as their alcohol and drug specialist. I have also worked as a wilderness therapist for at-risk teenagers with behavioral, psychological/emotional, academic, and social problems. During that time, I worked extensively with parents and families addressing family problems. Further, I have worked as a substance abuse counselor with people of all ages in multiple settings. I pride myself in my varied experiences and how they have shaped my skill-set as a counselor.
In my spare time, I relax by getting outdoors spending time with my family and dog. I am an avid explorer of the outdoors; and I love hiking, backpacking, snowmobiling, and camping year around. I enjoy staying active, exploring in the local parks, and taking advantage of all that the beautiful Hudson Valley and New York State has to offer.
I look forward to any opportunity I have to work with you.
